A-Level and GCSE

Exam Centre

We can accept external candidates for any subject offered by AQA, Edexcel and CIE provided no practical or oral component or coursework is involved. We can also only accept candidates for written papers.

Deadline for exam entries are as follows:

  • For November 2011 exams - 4th October 2011
  • For January 2012 exams - 21st October 2012
  • For Summer 2012 GCSE exams - 21st February 2012
  • For Summer 2012 GCE exams - 21st March 2012

Late Entry

It is possible to enter for an exam after these dates, but a Late Entry Fee will be charged. This will be between £30 and £70 depending on how close it is to the exam. Please note, there are no refunds available for late entries.

Exam Times

Morning (AM) session - exam starts at 09.00 am (please arrive at least 15 mins earlier)
Afternoon (PM) session - exam starts at 1.15 pm (please arrive at least 15 mins earlier)


The Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA) is the largest of the three English exam boards, awarding 49% of full course GCSEs and 42% of A-levels nationally. In total, students take over 3.5 million exams with them each year.


Edexcel is the UK's largest awarding body offering academic and vocational qualifications and testing to schools, colleges, employers and other places of learning in the UK and internationally.


University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is the world's largest provider of international qualifications for 14-19 year olds. They are part of the University of Cambridge and a not-for-profit organisation. CIE started in 1998 to provide high-quality, leading-edge qualifications that meet the ongoing demands of employers and educators across the world.

CIE offers a broad range of internationally recognised qualifications, both academic and vocational, which have been designed to develop successful students worldwide. These include general qualifications including Cambridge IGCSE and the Cambridge International A Level.
